Following the presentation at the Musée de la Danse last November of “Les Thermes” (“The Thermal Baths”), a ball pool containing 30,000 engraved black plastic balls, in which the public immerse itself to read the carvings (stoic maxims and aphorisms not necessarily fun but deep), we are now happy to invite you to the opening of the whole living installation of  FRANCE DISTRACTION at the CENTQUATRE, Paris on the 13th, 14th and 15th of April 2012.

Thursday, April 12-  dress rehearsal - 6:30 p.m.

FRANCE DISTRACTION – Stoic spa for depressed CEOs, inflatable board, random recruiting system, new co-workers welcome ceremonies, call center, air castles sculptures: as many solutions to issues not necessarely defined yet.

The installation extends itself on several tiny spaces brought together by a bankrupt compagny easthetic, where the open space envirronelent meets the one of an abandonned amusement parc. One can stroll freely in this event consultance firm CEO’s retirement drinks atmosphere.

This in decline administrative space showing all the apparences of a celebration without actually being one is activated by performancies from drawing marathon to heater’s concert.  The bodies’ management is at the core of this big living installation. This 3D still life mixes the sings of a party with these of a liberal nightmare.

The big industrial groups and the New York first amusement parcs were born at the same time. We are dealing with the same body practices, the same emulation and stimuli violence mecanisms. We could say that the liberal compagny physically creates a permanent fake intensity such as the one we can experiment in a concentrated way in an amusement park.
