BIT Teatergarasjen produces, co-produces and presents art within the field of Norwegian and international contemporary performing arts both dance and theatre, but is also focused on other disciplines like visual arts, literature and performance arts. BIT Teatergarasjen is responsible for two international biannual festivals Octoberdance and Meteor (theatre festival). BIT Teatergarasjen has, since it was established in 1983, worked in the field of contemporary performing arts on an international level. We produce and present approximately 50% dance & 50% theatre performances in an equal share of Norwegian and international work, mainly from other parts of Europe, but also from the rest of the world. Since 1988 we have systematically collaborated with European festivals, theatres and art centres for co-production and presentation. In addition to producing and presenting art work, BIT Teatergarasjen also puts the artistic work into a relevant context through seminars, discussions and workshop.
