Arts centre BUDA is a workspace for artists, a presentation platform and an artcinema.
On a yearly basis, arts centre BUDA welcomes about 150 artists from various disciplines and countries. They come to live and work temporary in Kortrijk. They have at their disposal studios in the Budatower, two technical equipped theatrehalls, a team of technicians and a boarding house to stay overnight.
The artists in residence sometimes present their work to an audience during different platforms throughout the season.
Arts centre BUDA is a big proponent of the Eurometropolis Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai, a dense international region with two million inhabitants in the South of West Flanders, Wallonia-Picarde and the North of France. Within this Eurometropolis, BUDA is co-organiser of the international artsfestival NEXT. During NEXT, performances are shown from notorious artists as well as the next generation, young artists with potential. In summer, BUDA organises a local festival, Kortrijk Congé, in collaboration with other local organisations. From next season on (2012-2013), BUDA VISTA will be organised twice a year, a platform that is proposing strong and finished performances and - during the day - small carte blanches to artists in research process.
