“Versuchsperson Silke Grabinger 1.2” – Irena Čurik: THERE WAS NO NEWS ANYMORE

Check out the work-in-progress presentation of “Versuchsperson Silke Grabinger 1.2”: THERE WAS NO NEWS ANYMORE directed and choreographed by Croatian theatre author Irena Čurik and performed by Austrian dancer and choreographer Silke Grabinger on June 21st at 8pm in &TD Theatre in Zagreb. Entrance is free!
First edition of “Versuchsperson Silke Grabinger” was trying to find new ways of dealing with the well-known patterns that exist in the field of dance and performance. One dancer/performer (Silke Grabinger) performs 5 pieces by 5 completely different authors and thus becomes an experimental test subject of her own dance experiment. First edition has presented 5 miniatures by 5 different authors that live and work in Austria: Anne Juren (F/AT), Oleg Soulimenko (RU/AT), Phillipe Riera (F/AT), Hubert Lepka (AT) and Dirk Stermann. In the end, there are 5 individual pieces of about 10 minutes each, which are presented consecutively in a single performance.
With the residency in June in &TD Theatre, Irena Čurik has started working on her new theatre miniature with Silke Grabinger that will be incorporated in the first series of „Versuchsperson Silke Grabinger 1.2“ and premiered at new Ganz New Festival on September 22nd, 2012 in &TD Theatre.
Dance etude. Suprematic choreography. Trigger is a sensation. Pure image. The unmarkable of imagery. Beauty as itself. Like when our eyes met.
Direction and choreography: Irena Čurik
Performer: Silke Grabiner
