The aim of Tanzfabrik is the development and presentation of contemporary dance in its diversity of choreographic and performative approaches, the promotion of young artists, the connection of theory and practice and international exchange. The studio stage focuses on the visualisation of artistic processes and the presentation of regular events. In addition, the Tanzfabrik initiates extended training projects for young choreographers and the biannual TANZNACHT BERLIN.
Experienced with network planning and implementation, Tanzfabrik Berlin is also part of the Berlin network 'TanzRaumBerlin' (involved in cultural policy and advocates for the interests of the Berlin dance scene). As the main shareholder of Uferstudios GmbH Tanzfabrik Berlin offers 2 studios of total 14 dance studios including a stage for artistic development and visibility. Located in the north of Berlin Tanzfabrik Berlin now runs two places geographically located in different areas reaching different audience groups.
