Lip Sync Lab - Eintagesworkshop

Lip Syncing is a performative procedure in which a performer is silently mimicking the act of singing while the actual voice/music is coming from another source. The bsides group offers a reevaluation of this apparently trivial activity parasiting on the phenomena of pop stardom. Instead of criticizing self indulgment, fan culture and lack of skills, they offer to re-affirm them. They see them as strategies of survival in a world where rhetorical sophistication, ethical hypocrisy and aesthetic puritanism inhibit genuine search for different answers to a problem of existence. This workshop will be staged as a living installation. Each day a maximum of 6 participants will be invited to work together with the bsides team. An introduction, a warm up and joint rehearsal will lead to the production of new lip syncing material each day and made available online. Throughout the festival, the workspace will be an open installation for the public to observe and get involved. The basis for this lab is your own youtube video with a lip sync song.
